Robert J Fournier
Quantitative Aquatic Ecology

About Robert
I am currently a postdoc with a dual appointment at UC Santa Barbara and UC Berkeley.
In my current position, I work with the Benioff Ocean Science Lab at UCSB, and researchers in the ESPM and IB departments at UC Berkeley to leverage extensive biomonitoring data to model the potential food web effects of sea otter restoration to northern California.

In my previous postdoc at UC Berkeley with the Ruhi and Carlson labs, I examined how habitat fragmentation affected recolonization after a seasonal drying event in an intermittent stream. I also examined phenological change in North American estuarine systems, and modeled ecological risk for juvenile estuarine fishes and their prey.

During my PhD with the USGS Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Unit at the University of Arkansas, I examined multiple stressor dynamics in stream ecosystems.

Prior to my scientific career, I worked as an access and inclusion specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
